I'm thinking of vents like soffit vents but larger, and a hinged panel (will have to shave off a bit from the sides) to allow it to be flattened out for repairs or emergency hair dryer therapy. But the vents or grille are definitely starters.

Thank you, Charlie, for that suggestion. The mirrored edges on the upper tambour cabinet and the sliding doors are starting to flake and look tattered and worn. I am considering junking the whole thing and getting something new and different, but if there is a fix, or cosmetic coverup, that would be a lot simpler. I think. I'm sure the more expensive coaches had frames around the mirrors, but these were left exposed at the edge. I can't figure out how to glue a frame on them and still have them function in their allotted space.

My speakers are facing downward from the overhead cabinets, so covering them with artwork will be a challenge. The peregrine likes La Boheme, but very low key.
