Anne,
Whoever complained most likely did not follow the installation instructions. AquaTec clearly states that the output from the pump should NOT be directly connected to rigid plumbing, but rather through a looped stainless braided hose. If connected directly to rigid plumbing like PEX, it is very possible that a resonance can be setup between the plumbing and the pump and when that happens, it sounds like a jack hammer. It is not a problem with the pump, but rather a matter of physics. I have also found that if you run the AquaJet pump dry (it does not hurt it), it takes it a bit to fully prime all 5 of the chambers and during that time, it does make more racket and it pulses the water a bit. This problem always clears itself over time even if you don't run it constantly until it primes.
BTW, we actually have better water pressure when on the AquaJet than on city pressure on both rigs.
