I'm not Anne, but I kept my covered cat box in the hallway next to the
bathroom wall....... the opening toward the box to keep the dogs out of
what they lovingly called the "Cat Box Cafe" :p

I would never let my cat out..... I don't think cats should be out loose
for many reasons.
