Hey folks, I've been full-timing now for a month and adjusting to the lifestyle. Last night I parked at a Kentucky winery I found through Harvest Hosts (Thank you to whomever mentioned them on this list!) and treated myself to a lovely dinner on the deck looking over the vineyard. Considering my previous three nights had been I the rain in pretty awful conditions with remnants of the previous campers strewn about, last night was heaven.
Anyway, back to the road today, but I am once again having problems with both tanks emptying. They empty about halfway and then the waste water just sits in the valve. The coach was level, so I am wondering if someone adjusted the angle of both tanks when they were working under there this winter, or if that is possible? If you recall, when the folks in Boise worked on the black tank last fall, someone forgot to finish attaching the clamp for the tank and I discovered it starting to hang down when I was in Amarillo--in a blizzard! Held it together with gorilla tape and had Camping World in Winchester, VA reattach the clamp. Now I wonder if they got it wrong?
The monitors for both tanks always seem to read half full regardless of how long I let them drain, and even after flushing with a hose. I bought one of those fancy valves and am doing my best to avoid another black valve disaster, but this is a new problem.
The next time I empty I will try to remember to run the wheels up on a ramp to angle the outlet side downward, but this is not going to be a permanent fix!
