Re: [A/S] AC repair needed/dirty coils?

Here is a good blog on the evaporator cleaning job. In my experience
access from the inside is so limited in most models as to be useless with
the "spray it and let it clean itself" technique. This leaves you with the
other technique which is an easy two hours work on the roof. For those
who can't do the job themselves this is an expensive maintenance item
so it rarely gets done. Anne, likely you were told it was ok because
they didn't want to do the work involved with doing it right or didn't want
to tell you it could be almost half the cost of a new A/C unit.
