Hi Anne,

First I'de try some kind of oil…. hit it with some WD40 (which is not oil but will soften the original grease) and see if it loosens up. If that doesn't help I'm afraid you will need to remove the lock. There are three screws on the inside handle plate and four on the door edge. You may have to cut the caulking around the outside. Look for anything bent or out of place. Any competent lock smith should be able to help…. but they tend to be expensive. Do you have a dead bolt lock also? It could be used until the main lock is fixed.

We are in Indianapolis but will be heading your direction tomorrow on our way to International. If you don't get it fixed in the next couple of days maybe I could take a look.
