Tech suggested that reverse fan switch may have gotten jiggled out of proper alignment in shipping but I don't know how it ought to look when correct?? Any suggestions? I can reach tech by phone but it requires a lot of waiting and I can't seem to get to them by email, it bounces. Anybody have any suggestions?

Polly, if I remember correctly, your coach is a 1964 Airstream. Based on the belief that your coach is a 1964, and that your original fans had a little black box on them, I may be able to offer a possible cause . . . particularly if you have the original Univolt. As originally installed, the OEM fans had a transformer in the electric supply to the fan. It is my understanding that the original Univolt supplied 18-volts to the system, and the transformers cleaned up the power and reduced it to 12-volts. Electricity is not my specialty, but one way of testing my theory would be to disconnect from shore power and try operating the Fantastic Fan on 12-volt from your battery . . . if it works properly, then you may have focused upon a problem with voltage produced by the Univolt.
I have Fantastic Fans in both roof vents on my 1964 Overlander Land Yacht International, but I had them installed by the factory team whle at the 1998 International Rally in Boise, Idaho. I was present during the installation, and I do remember the question of whether my Univolt was original or if it was a modern converter. I suspect that the transformer issue may have triggered the question. When I responded that the converter was a new unit installed in 1995, they proceeded with replacement.
Good luck in finding the culprit of your Fantastic Fan electrical issues!
