That's a really great piece of information, seeming to help clarify the mystery of the beautiful but anomolous ArgoStream.  Let's hope no one comes up with a similar recollection of  a similar conversion taking place in shops in Oklahoma, Rhode Island, and Minnesota.

Many years ago C&G Trailer in California had a 20' Argosy in their shop. The customer was having the panels removed and replaced with new aluminum panels, not painted. Their customer wanted his motorhome to look like an Airstream. I bet that is the motorhome you have. It looked really good.
