Okay, that makes more sense. My only experience with a Univolt was a 1974 I owned for a couple of years. And it supplied an AC signal [ 8 volts I think ] to the monitor panel for the shore power light or something….. it was a lot of years ago. The original Univolt was a saturable reactor type of device and had a couple of very large capacitors that went bad within a few years and then the unit hummed badly and produced a poorly regulated output. If you have one of these monsters it should be replaced but that is not likely the problem with the fan.
Could it be that the reversing switch is shorted so that it is trying to run in both directions at once? Or that the reversing switch is shorted against the metal of the inner trailer skin? I think it has to be something like that to blow the fuse on the fan itself.
