RE: [A/S] Re: Michelin tires Made in USA

 

Over the past several years, Michelin (a French company) has purchased at
least two tire companies (that I know of).

Armstrong tires, a relatively small tire company in the north east.

Most recently, Michelin purchased B F Goodrich [you will often see
promotions for both Michelin and BF Goodrich tires together - at Costco or
Discount Tire, for example.]

Both of these companies had a line of radial tires of modest success -
typically with some problems. Michelin, of course, having invented the
radial tire, has extensive radial tire know how. My guess is that some of
these plants are now making Michelin branded radials using the tooling and
technology of the Michelin company.
