The Amazon one has the built in Charge Wizard and for the same price on boatandrvaccessories.com which is the company shown on Amazon, they include the remote pendant also.
NOW my question is, do I spring for another $50 and get the 80 amp one?
Decisions, decisions.

Tom,
I didn't check the Amazon listing, so I don't know if you are making an
exact comparison. I have found the rebuilt prices (from the factory) to be
competitive with new ones from dealers. Camping World often puts them on
sale at very good prices.
HOWEVER:
Note that the original Intellisync units required an accessory "Charge
Wizard" to make the unit a fully automatic multi mode charger. The Charge
Wizard cost (by itself) is in the neighborhood of $40.00 or so.
A few years ago, Progressive Dynamics introduced converters with an integral
Charge Wizard. Needless to say, these units sold for more than the original
model without the Charge Wizard.
You definitely want the converter with a Charge Wizard capability (either
integral or as an add on. Functionally they are the same.).
My guess is that the rebuilt unit also included an integral Charge Wizard
while the Amazon one does not. The last time I checked, Progressive
Dynamics was manufacturing Intellisync units with AND without the Charge
Wizard - with correspondingly different prices.
Several years ago, I replaced my Univolt with an Intellisync and accessory
Charge Wizard on my 1976 Tradewind. I have been very happy with it.
Most important, the new converter can rapidly recharge a low charged battery
without "boiling the electrolyte over." Also, if I am connected to shore
power for an extended period of time (and low load on the battery) , the
converter does not overcharge the battery, and boil off the electrolyte.
This is particularly important if you use a "maintenance free" battery, many
of which do not have removable caps to add water.
Sincerely,
Oliver Filippi
