My current toilet isn't plastic. It's a heavy porcelain. I'll go look into the new ones though if it's going to cost the same. While they have the old one out I could replace that yucky floor there anyway. I have the rest of the floor done and it wouldn't take me anytime to finish off that little bit before a new toilet went in.

Tom and the rest are right. While it may be nostalgic, trying to maintain
an old toilet is not worth the trouble. I highly recommend the porcelain
though. Much easier to clean, looks great and there is little difference in
weight. We got the Thetford Aroura which was a direct replacement for the
one in our '77 (but it may have been changed before). It is a high
profile which is almost like the ones in your home.

I'll second what Tony said about repairing an old toilet. The one in my 1992
34' started leaking also. My local mechanic grew up in Airstreams. His
Grandfather showed my father how to winterize one back in the early '90's.
All the unbroken parts are as old as the one that failed and will also fail
soon. I did not go with the porcelain though. I got the current Thetford.
We're installing it next week. I got a great price and excellent service
from AdventureRV..netin TN.
