Re: [tabtrailers] Re: Funniest Comments

Hi. My name is Kathy and I bought a new Tab in 2004.  She is number 160 off the assembly line!  Here's the funniest comment I ever heard about my Tab.  I camped around Iowa for 2 years and never saw another Tab.  One day I had pulled into a state park and was setting up camp.  A couple stopped (Hi Dorothy and David if you're reading this) and commented on my cute camper.  I thought "here we go again". I was trying to get set up so I said, " If you come back in about 1/2 hour I open her up and give you a tour."  They said, " Oh, we have one!"  I had to sit down at the picnic table - I was so shocked!  To make a long story shorter.  They brought their Tab to the campground and we camped together for the week.  We are now good friends and they host an Iowa Tab Rally every June at Rock Creek State Park in Iowa.  We have Tabs from all over the midwest attend each year. We'll be there June 8-12 this year if anyone wants to join the fun.

We've had numerous "Cute!" comments also. We had a friend, after seeing a photo of Dory, say...."It's so flippin' cute! How do you sleep?" My comment to her was...."Very close." Our last outing, while stopping at a Publix, a woman came up on a bicycle and thought it was the cutest little thing, we opened it up for her to see inside, and she was so appreciate. Said she had always wondered what they looked like on the inside. Same parking lot, a young man hollered to my husband, caught up with him and had several questions about the T@B. Am proud to have our little camper behind us cruising down the highway. ;-)

I had made up about 16 copies of information about the T@B to hand out along the way based on our first experience bringing it home from the dealer. We were down to one when we got to Carlsbad, so got some more copies made at the local public library. We were out by the time we got back home from the five-week trip.

Most all of them did want to look inside and ask questions. We didn't mind, though apparently many members do. Many who pass us on the interstate highways will smile, wave and give us a thumbs-up.

I have so enjoyed all the comments you have all gotten and can't wait to see if I might be able to add another. I will be in southern New Mexico and I doubt if people there have seen one of these. I know I never did when I lived there.
