Re: [A/S] Apology

I am sorry to hear you lost your long-time horse, Hunter. I had a mustang for 26 years and after emergency surgery, had to put him down. It was excruciating. Happened about 16 years ago but I still wince when I think about it.

And Leo, I"m sorry too that you got such a bumpy welcome here. Normally it's a very congenial place, but we are all mere mortals who sometimes have bad days. If they ever invent the computer equivalent of a bad mood breathalyzer I could use before touching the keyboard, I will invest heavily in it.

This whole social media thing is fascinating and scary, esp to those of us with a lot of miles behind us. I love the connections, at the same time I distrust the security breaches that often come with it. However, I've gotten a lot more benefit from "targeted lists" like this (I also follow falconry, fly fishing, widowhood, news photogs in addition to Airstreamers) than Facebook and Twitter, which I rarely visit anymore, but I've also reconnected with childhood friends I never would have found otherwise. Lately I've been invited to several new services, mostly business-oriented, and I think the gene pool is starting to be diluted a bit. Who has time for this? Still, I like to at least have a vague idea of what is happening out there in cyber-world even if I'd rather be spending my time casting trout flies into riffles. So thanks for the head's up about Google +, and it will be interesting to see who eventually wins the war for portal entries.

All the best,

Anne in VA
