We no longer have a clearcoat on our trailer....it is raw aluminum though
polished.

Thanks, Paula! Appreciate the help. I"ve seen several trailers for sale
with clearcoat issues, and factoring in the $120 plus/linear foot to re-coat
them, I wondered how long I could ignore it before sustaining noticeable
damage. I love the look of polished trailers, but can't imagine the time or
effort at keeping them that way. Nice to know they don't have to be done
annually if you have shelter.
