Re: [A/S] fresh water holding tank change

Jim,
I have a '77. Our water tank is mounted under the trailer inside a aluminum
box that is screwed to the frame. There is a large square plate held on
with a single large bolt in the middle that gives access to the wiring and
pick up tubing that has to be removed before taking the tank down. Our tank
is a rectangular donut shape. I hope that Charlie is correct and the leak
is just a fitting or hose. Ours had several leaks and we attempted to have
them plastic welded at a local Plastics America. After three attempts, we
gave up. The plastic has become brittle and cracked as fast as we repaired
the last crack. I ended up having a new tank manufactured as this type tank
is no longer available. Not cheap, but works great.

Look under your trailer around where the entry stair is, in the center of
the trailer. If you have a large metal plate with a single bolt, you can
safely remove the bolt, lower the plate and get a good look at the water
tank to assess where it is leaking.

If yours is a different design you'll have to continue looking for
assistance.
Good luck - feel free to contact off list if I can help further.

Pete
